New facility built in March of 2012, including 1200 square foot small animal facility and 2000 square foot equine facility with full lameness evaluation area and hospitalization facilities. Owner Dr. Jen Powers was voted #1 veterinarian in Northern California region by Enjoy magazine. Acupuncture and equine dentistry are specialties of the practice. Excellent support staff. Company History
Dr. Jen Powers, graduated in 1995 from UC Davis and has been working in companion animal medicine and surgery in the Redding area since. She was certified as an acupuncturist by IVAS in 1997 and began specialized training in equine dentistry in 1998. In late 2009 she started her own practice, Above and Beyond Animal Care at a facility on her personal property. The practice blossomed quickly and a new facility was constructed in March of 2013 to include comprehensive facilities for both small and equine medicine and surgery, dentistry, radiology, ultrasound and hospitalization.
